Safeguarding Procedures

These procedures have been developed by the Dorset Safeguarding Children Board and the Bournemouth and Poole Local Safeguarding Children Board.

They are local procedures for everybody working with children and young people in the county of Dorset.  They reflect national statutory requirements and our own organisational procedures are based on these multi-agency guidelines.

We refer to these procedures when working with a child:

  • whom we have concerns about and want to refer to social care
  • who has a CAF
  • who is a Child in Need
  • is the subject of a Child Protection Plan
  • and there has been an allegation against a member of staff
  • who has specific safeguarding circumstances and we need further guidance.  e.g. Child sexual exploitation, missing children, domestic abuse

The Designated Safeguarding Lead in our school is our Headteacher, Mrs Annette Faithfull. Our first priority is your child’s welfare, and therefore there may be occasions when our concern about your child means that we have to consult with other agencies before we contact you. The Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole Area Child Protection Committee have determined the procedures we must follow.
